After checking in and settling down, the evening can be spent strolling around Mall Road and soaking in the relaxed hill ambience. Night stay is in Shimla.
    • Day 2
After breakfast, the drive continues deeper into the mountains towards Kalpa. The route passes through Narkanda, Rampur and Reckong Peo, with the landscape changing steadily from green forests to rugged winter terrain. As the altitude rises, snow-covered peaks begin to dominate the skyline. By evening, the group arrives in Kalpa, a quiet Himalayan village known for its breathtaking views. Temperatures drop sharply after sunset, often reaching –5°C to –10°C. Night stay is in Kalpa.
    • Day 3
The morning begins with the journey towards Tabo, entering the gateway to Spiti. On the way lies Nako, a scenic mountain village where the lake often appears partially frozen during winter. The surroundings slowly transform into the stark, dramatic landscapes that Spiti is famous for. By late afternoon or evening, Tabo is reached—a peaceful settlement known for its ancient Buddhist culture. Night stay is in Tabo.
    • Day 4
The day starts with a visit to the legendary Tabo Monastery, over a thousand years old and one of the most significant spiritual sites in the region. The route then heads towards Dhankar, where a stunning viewpoint overlooks the confluence of rivers and towering mountains, weather allowing. After this, the journey continues to Kaza, the headquarters of Spiti Valley and the main winter base. Here, the cold intensifies, with temperatures often dropping between –15°C and –25°C. Night stay is in Kaza.
    • Day 5
This day is dedicated to exploring the iconic high-altitude villages around Kaza, if roads and weather permit. The first stop is Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office. From there, the route climbs further to Komic, considered one of the highest motorable villages on the planet. The final highlight of the day is Langza, famous for its towering Buddha statue and fossil-rich slopes, all set against snow-laden Himalayan panoramas. After a day of scenic adventure, the group returns to Kaza for the night.
    • Day 6
In the morning, the journey continues towards Key Monastery, dramatically perched on a hill and especially enchanting when wrapped in winter snow. From there, the road leads to Chicham Bridge, Asia’s highest suspension bridge, offering thrilling views of the deep canyon below. After exploring these wonders, the group begins descending towards lower altitude, heading back in the direction of Tabo or Nako, depending on conditions. Night stay is in Tabo or Nako.
    • Day 7
The drive resumes towards Kalpa, retracing the scenic winter landscapes of Spiti and Kinnaur. With several opportunities to stop, admire the surroundings and take photographs, the day unfolds at a calm, relaxed pace. By evening, Kalpa offers a welcome return to slightly milder conditions after the harsh cold of Kaza. Night stay is in Kalpa.
    • Day 8
On the final morning, the journey winds back from Kalpa towards Shimla and continues down to Chandigarh.
